FEDERAL Environment Minister Malcolm Turnbull has been brought undone by his own spin, flipping two toddlers over in a toy chair at a photo-call in Sydney today.
Launching the Raising Children Network at Fox Studios, Mr Turnbull was spinning two children in a swivel-pod when the contraption tipped over.
Rushing to the aid of the boys, Mr Turnbull set the pod upright again, but it was too late - the children were upset.
One of the tots burst into tears before being scooped up by his mother, who could be heard reassuring Mr Turnbull that the boy was OK.
The Environment Minister may also be responsible for upsetting a few people in the Tasmanian seat of Bass, site of the proposed Gunns pulp mill he has approved.
A Newspoll has shown the Coalition trailing Labor in Bass by 43 to 57 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.
Defending his decision to approve the mill, Mr Turnbull said the Federal Government had conducted a very careful assessment of the project.
"We had the best scientists in Australia to look at it, and we impose the strictest conditions on any pulp mill in the world," he said.
"People know that if those conditions are complied with, and they will have to be complied with as a matter of law, the pulp mill will - as the chief scientist said - have an environmentally neutral impact." SOURCE
